Whether you are a returning member, sponsor, or a new addition to the family, it is with great privilege and excitement that we welcome everyone to another exciting year with the National Society of Minorities in Hospitality (NSMH). That time of the year is quickly approaching-2011 Regional Conferences! Each of our five regions (Midwest, Northeast, South, Southeast, and West) is gearing up to host its annual Regional Conference. The 2011 Regional Conference Season will commence with the Midwest Regional Conference at Purdue University Union Club Hotel in West Lafayette, IN, October 14-16, 2011 and close with the South/Southeast Regional Conference at the Hilton Atlanta Northeast in Atlanta, GA, November 4-6, 2011. To view a complete list of conference details for YOUR region, please check out the link below: Why attend YOUR Regional Conference? It is a wonderful opportunity to help prepare for the NSMH Annual National Conference in February. In addition, participation in these conferences is critical to the overall development of our members. Students are exposed to and able to network with industry professionals from hotels, chain restaurants, entrepreneurs, and more. The programming offered is geared to specifically address subjects from which any undergraduate, or even graduate, student can benefit. Emphasis on professional development is a key principle addressed in a myriad of workshop presentations during these conferences. Generally, regional workshops focus on areas such as resume building, personal branding and development, and so much more. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact either your corresponding Regional Chair at the address listed below or me directly at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
