Greetings Northeast!

Hello my name is Carlos Casián and it is my extreme pleasure to serve you once more as your 2009-2010 Northeast Regional Chair. I am filled with excitement about moving forward this year, and all of the great things to come for our region, as well as NSMH as a whole.

I have several goals in mind for this year with the Northeast Region, such as increasing membership, and increasing attendance to our National Conference to be held in Indianapolis, Indiana in February 2010. This past year, the Northeast bonded in a manner that has not been seen in years, and we move forward proud and united into another year of Northeast Dominance! Last year the Northeast achieved a milestone that we should be extremely proud of. We were able to attain more than half of the National awards at the National Conference-including Chapter of the Year! That is all due to the hard work that our Northeast chapters put in all year long. This year my goal…our goal…is to do it again!

This 20th anniversary of ours is not over yet as we still have our 20th year Northeast Regional Conference anniversary which will be Philadelphia, PA on October 30th - November 1st. Preparation is key to ensure that it is successful, so please register early and get your chapters excited! It will be a conference to remember and attending should be made a priority you will not regret. This is our 20th year!

I am here for you, to continue to work diligently toward making the Northeast Region as strong as it has ever been. Believe me, it is amazing to see friendships maintained outside of the conferences, and it is what keeps me going. I intend on achieving this through being of service to the Northeast Region in any and every way possible. The NSMH National Board as a whole has worked at a continuous pace, with an innovative mind set to make this year as productive as possible. Not only productive for NSMH as a whole, but for each individual member as well-whether it be through personal growth or professional. We are striving to stay true to what we have been doing for two decades.
