Shuttle Forms
|
The National Society of Minorities Hospitality has arranged for vans/buses to transport
participants from the Greensboro airport to the Sheraton Hotel at Four Seasons and Joseph Koury Convention Center and return to the airport. Services will be provided by Southern States Tours & Conventions and the cost will be $10 per person per trip. All individual registrants must make a reservation for the shuttle no later than February 6, 2009 to secure a ride. If you do not make a reservation by completing the official reservation form you may not be able to use the service.
To catch a shuttle, participants should go to the baggage claim area in the lower level of the airport. Signs with National Society of Minorities Hospitality will be located at the bottom of the escalator. Payment should be made after entering the van or bus because airport regulations will not allow passengers to stand at the curb and pay. No checks, debt cards or charge cards will be accepted on-site, so please have the exact amount of cash if possible.
Special Note: If you are making a reservation for a group of 15 or more, advance credit card payments will be accepted, please use group reservation form. The group reservation form and payment must be received by Southern States Tours & Conventions no later than February 6, 2009.
Important Travel Survival Tips:
1. Create a travel plan in advance but be flexible.
2. Factor possible flight delays/cancellations into your travel plan
3. Check Greensboro weather 7 days prior to your departure to allow for flexibility
in your travel plans and airport transportation timing.
4. Taxi service is expensive but compare Taxi cost againt shuttle cost for small groups.
5. Call your hotel a few days prior to arrival to confirm your reservation.
6. Keep in mind, most NSMH travelers will arrive on Thursday, February 21, allow
time in your plan for delays at baggage claim.
7. Even though Shuttles picks up regularly from the airport,
factor in a possible wait time due to the volume of passengers because of
the conference. Bring snacks, reading materials, I POD or laptop to entertain you if
there is a wait.
8. Be patient. Travelling can be very stressful. Always keep in mind that most delays
are out of the control of the service providers you come in contact with. Remain
calm and respectful to travel employees.
9. If your travel plan has you arriving at the hotel before 3pm, there is a possibility that
your room will not be ready. Be prepared to wait patiently.
10. Be hospitable. Don’t forget to greet others, say thank you, and tip.
