The mission and vision is the heart of NSMH. This is workshop is focused around learning the mission & vision and developing an individualized meaning that will foster a greater understanding & love of NSMH. NSMH is dedicated to developing leaders. Come learn about how to get the most out of your NSMH experience.
Session B: Make It Happen, Captain - Kovens Center 114
You’ve crossed the stage, the diploma is now framed, and you’re entering this new adult world where everyone is learning your name. In this new professional setting, how can you make sure you stand out and receive recognition for the right reasons? How can you lead a team of all ages while figuring out how to motivate yourself? Our panel of industry professionals will offer their insight on how you can find your footing, make the right connections, and launch an outstanding career.

We’re back in person and demand has returned! How is the industry leveraging the learnings from the global pandemic? How have guest expectations changed? What are the spaces seeing the most innovation? Are QR codes here to stay? From gluten free to destination fees, let’s deep dive into the actions companies are taking to secure market share, personalize guest experiences, and move the industry forward.

Diversity and inclusion are at the forefront more than ever. Inclusion conversations are happening in the workplace, guests and employees are even more socially aware. Join us as we discuss the importance of honoring diversity and finding commonalities within our differences.

Now that you’ve graduated from college, when is the right time to continue your education? Should you pursue an advanced degree in hospitality? Join us in discussing the challenge of work authorization, visa restrictions, and the factors you should consider before purchasing a one-way flight and starting your new life in a different part of the world.
Session C: I’m Every Woman: Women in Leadership Today - Kovens Center 120
Within the United States, although women make up over 50% of the workforce, studies show that only 35% of them are senior leaders. For women of color, the representation is even less. In this session, our inspiring panel of women will share their career progression, how they are removing roadblocks, advocating for themselves, and leveraging male allies along the way.
